Eating and drinking, meals and catering options:



For catered guests:
Food is a very important part of your holiday and one that we want you to enjoy, so we shop, you ski, we cook, you relax and enjoy the ambience.  Our food is fresh and varied and we want you to enjoy it and look forward to meals, so we take on board your likes and dislikes, get excited at cooking vegetarian or something different, and work around your needs with younger children. We’re very fortunate to be surrounded by a great choice of small local producers, weekly markets and impressive counters of goods in the supermarkets and we try and make the most of all that is on offer. We're not tied to fixed menus so we can be responsive to your likes and dislikes and take advantage of what's in season.

Leeks, beetroot, butternut squash from our organic vegetable garden all find their way onto the menu alongside local plums, apples and wild blueberries, gathered from the hillsides. Soups, risottos, tasty salads, slow roasted lamb, fish pies and warming casseroles are all there and for pudding; homemade  ice cream and jellies, plum, lemon or apricot tarts, choc fondants and blueberry bakewell are all there. Not forgetting, by popular request, the local Savoyarde treat of Tartiflette!

We provide a daily cooked breakfast, afternoon tea and cakes, and a three  course evening meal with wine on six days, one evening midweek we take off.

In the mornings wake up to the smell of freshly baked croissants, then there's a choice of cereals, yogurts, fruit and hot dishes. Enjoy your breakfast; we take a relaxed view of clearing the table in the mornings. Come back to a different cake each day for tea; help yourselves to hot drinks whenever you wish.  Early evening aperitifs are followed by a relaxed evening meal around the table and finished off with coffee or tea around the fire.

Loin of pork with mustard sauce and fennel gratin
Or filo and spinach pie with tomato, courgette & couscous salad
Bread and butter pudding with apricot sauce
We are happy to cook special diets, just let us know in advance.


Children’s meals: We provide food that your children will enjoy and which will keep them going over the holiday.  Generally we do an earlier sitting for younger children around 6pm. Older children are welcome to eat with the adults if space allows and they like the dishes on offer.

Drinks:
Have a glass of wine or a beer before dinner in the evening, the wine continues with your food and you can choose red, white or rosé. We enjoy wine too and are always looking for good supplies; most of what we serve comes from local wine merchants and has proved to be very palatable. We have a small, but tempting range of more exclusive wine and champagne that you can choose to buy.
We also have a selection of nice wine, beers and cans at a reasonable price that you can help yourselves to at any time from the drinks fridge.


Self catered in Chalet Brio or La Terrasse:
La Terrasse is available self catered all winter, (Chalet Brio is only available self catered  outside the winter ski season); there is a good supply of store cupboard basics for you to use such as olive oil, sugar, herbs etc.  We also leave enough for breakfast the first morning; milk, eggs, butter etc. If you decide you’d like a break from cooking then we can put you in touch with outside caterers who do very reasonable ready prepared meals or there are plenty of good restaurants in nearby Samoens and Morillon.
